My name is Amber and I'm eighteen years old. In the past year I have gone through many changes, some good, some bad, but all more significant than I ever thought could happen in such a short time. It started in June of 2007. I dropped out of my home-school program and began my life in college. I was new and had no experience with people past the eight years I spent in grade-school. I found it to be a wonderful experience and went on to obtain my GED.
I then began the best and worst three months of my life as I enrolled into the Fall Semester. I took English 191 under Cameron Bentley and Psychology 191 under Kay MacDonald, both of which came to be a great source of comfort and entertainment for the first five weeks. After that, during my midterm week, I lost my grandmother, and a lot of what I knew to be safe in the world. A few weeks later, my mother went in to major surgery, thankfully coming out without any flaws. I was to help her during her recovery, but on the week of my finals, when she arrived home, I was struck down by a severe illness and was hospitalized for over a week. I was released after I was well enough to get by and completed that semester with a 3.5 GPA.
Then my life turned for the better. In the span of but one month I bought my first car, my first laptop, got out of a strained relationship of six years, and enrolled once more in college. I recently graduated from my GED ceremony and my second semester with a 3.3 GPA and am now attending my third semester before going through with a decision I made when I lost my grandmother. I'm leaving. Not life, persay, but this one. No - not suicide either. I'm going to join the Air Force and go see some of the world I've neglected for so long. I don't know where life will take me, but with each day, I'll try to write something here to pass the time.
